Most people think they “self-sabotage” because something is wrong with them.
But what if the problem isn’t you…
it’s the environment you were shaped in?
In this episode, I break down one of the most important patterns I see in my therapy room:
The type of home you grew up in may be driving how you react as an adult.
We’ll explore four childhood environments that often lead to self-sabotage:
– Chaos that makes calm feel unsafe
– Emotional absence that makes closeness overwhelming
– Performance-based love that makes success feel threatening
– Early loss that makes happiness feel temporary
And the question that changes everything:
How old did you feel in that moment?
Because a lot of the time, it’s not your adult self making the decision.
It’s a younger version of you trying to protect you.
This episode will help you recognize the pattern — and start separating who you are now from who had to survive back then.
